Ouais, my own analysis though is going much slower (I’m Francophone), so that I’m having to analyse it page by page as the English is bloody hard to understand as you pointed out hahaha.

Strangely I found the Silmarillion and LOTR’s English so much easier to understand.

His fiction prose is much clearer. Not sure why that is - but they're such different approaches to writing, so maybe one way flows better from him than the other. I can't imagine trying to read this with English not as your native tongue - good luck!

C’est si difficile, it’s so darn hard lol.

And yeah his fiction prose flows smoother. I’ve noticed the same with my own writing; my essay writing doesn’t flow as easily and is clunky, clumsy and not as good while my prose flows smoothly.

I think essay writing, especially academic writing, comes with this pressure to be super precise and technical. The final product ends up being a slog to read. I've seen differing opinions on Orwell's prose and suggestions for prose writing, but I think this is something that he successfully avoids - he picks the clearest, simplest words instead of the most impressive.
